I found a wonderful antique necklace made from watch cocks found in 18th century pocket watches.  Each link is intracately individual and the end result is stunning.  If you are looking for something that is entirely unique while remaining highly fashionable then this necklace, underpriced at $945 is definitely for you.

What is a watch cock? It is a hand-fabricated part essential to the inner workings of pocket watches commonly found in the 18th century. Usually made of metal alloys. Pinchbeck was often used. Looking closely at each link, an amazing variety of intricate designs—floral, serpents, faces and scrolling designs—emerge. In the later 19th century, it was popular to link these parts together and wear as necklaces and bracelets.

Condition: Very good. Light wear to each of the links. This necklace is all original with the original clasp.

Measurements: 16-7/8 inches (42.5 cm) in length. Each link graduates from about 1 inch (2.3 cm) down to 7/8 of an inch (2 cm) in height by a range of 7/8 of an inch (2.1 cm) to ¾ of an inch (1.7 cm) in width. Weight of 39.4 grams.

Date & Origin: Watch cocks are 18th or early 19th century; this necklace was put together in the later 19th century and is English in origin.
